The rsync utility must be installed on both the client and server computer systems before you begin. Rsync has 4 modes: local and remote. When multiple machines are on the same network system, local mode is used.

Today I faced a fearA different problem that I hadn’t noticed before. When I try to transfer important information from one server to another using rsync I get this error:

[[email protected] com:~]rsync -e 'ssh -p 22' [email protected]:/home/company/public_html/* /home/company/public_html/bash: rsync: command connection not foundrsync: fast close (0 bytes received so far) [receiver]rsync error: remote command not available (code 127) on io.c(600) [receiver=3.0.6]

This happened because rsync was not installed on the remote mob.

rsync command not found solaris

I’m trying to sync a national folder with a remote server running on a non-default port and my new rsync command is:

rsync -avz ~/Research/Folder1/folder2 -e "ssh -p 3345" [email protected]:/home/reusr/folder1/folder2
bash: required rsync: not foundrsync: connection closed forever (received 0 bytes away) [sender]rsync error: errorBox in rsync process thread (code 12) from io.c(226) [sender=3.1.3]
rsync version 3.1.3 process 31

I don’t know if command not found or our later errors.

I’m using OSX Maojave as the county machine and a Debian server as the remote machine.
